Warranty & Returns Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Warranty & Returns Policy sets out the terms under which P-Spec ("we", "us", "our") provides warranty coverage, repairs, replacements, and returns for desktop computer systems and components sold to consumers within the United Kingdom.
This policy operates alongside statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Nothing in this policy affects statutory rights.
1. Warranty Coverage & Duration
All pre-configured systems supplied by P-Spec include a 6-Month Return-to-Base (RTB) Hardware Warranty starting on the date of delivery.
-
What Is Covered: Genuine hardware component failure, manufacturing defects, and assembly faults arising under normal operating conditions.
-
Remedy Hierarchy: In the event of a valid hardware failure, P-Spec will, at its sole discretion:
-
Repair the defective hardware component.
-
Replace the component with an identical part or an equivalent part of equal or greater performance.
-
If repair or replacement is not commercially viable, issue a refund in accordance with statutory guidelines.
-
2. Mandatory Remote Triage
To minimize downtime and avoid unnecessary shipping transit, all warranty claims must undergo initial remote diagnostic assessment before any return is authorized.
-
Contact P-Spec with the order number, a detailed description of the issue, and relevant photos or video clips illustrating the symptom.
-
P-Spec will guide you through basic external checks (e.g., verifying display cable connections, checking peripheral seating) or coordinate a direct remote diagnostic session.
-
If an issue is isolated to a standalone, easily swappable part (such as a secondary storage drive or individual memory module), P-Spec may dispatch a direct replacement component to you to avoid full system transit.
-
If the issue cannot be resolved remotely and indicates a hardware defect requiring bench servicing, P-Spec will issue a formal Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) reference alongside return shipping instructions.
Returns sent without an authorized RMA reference will not be processed.
3. Packaging & Safe Transit Requirements
Desktop gaming systems contain sensitive internal components and tempered glass panels. Secure packaging is strictly required during any return transit.
-
Retention of Original Packaging: Customers are required to retain the original outer cardboard shipping carton, custom high-density foam inserts, and internal GPU expansion foam (Instapak) for the duration of the 6-month warranty period.
-
Customer Responsibility During Transit: When returning a system, it must be repackaged using all original internal and external foam braces in accordance with provided return guidelines.
-
Transit Damage from Inadequate Packaging: P-Spec is not liable for physical or structural damage incurred during transit resulting from improper packaging (e.g., loose boxes, lack of internal GPU support, or insufficient padding). In such cases, transit damage will be treated as physical damage outside warranty coverage.
4. Tamper Seals & Serial Number Verification
To protect against unauthorized modifications and component substitution:
-
Component Logging: The serial numbers of all major hardware components (including CPU, GPU, Motherboard, RAM, Storage Drives, and Power Supply Unit) are logged and photographed prior to dispatch.
-
Tamper-Evident Seals: Security labels may be placed across internal component fasteners and chassis access points.
-
Unauthorized Modification: If a system is returned with removed, altered, or defaced serial numbers, or if components have been dismantled, physically altered, flashed with custom third-party BIOS/firmware, or swapped for non-original parts without prior written consent from P-Spec, warranty coverage for the affected hardware will be void.
5. No Fault Found (NFF) & Diagnostics Fees
If a system or component is returned to the workshop under an authorized RMA:
-
Valid Hardware Defect: P-Spec covers all associated collection, repair, replacement parts, labor, and return courier costs.
-
No Fault Found (NFF) / User-Induced Issue: If the returned hardware passes all workshop diagnostic stress tests, thermal benchmarks, and stability screenings without fault, or if the reported issue is determined to be solely caused by:
-
Operating system corruption, malware, or third-party software conflicts;
-
User-applied overclocking, undervolting, or misconfigured BIOS settings;
-
Accidental physical damage, liquid ingress, or external power surges;
-
The customer will be liable for:
-
Round-trip courier transit costs (collection and redelivery).
-
A standard Workshop Diagnostic Fee of £35.00 to cover bench inspection and testing time.
The system will be dispatched once outstanding inspection and transit fees are settled.
6. Warranty Exclusions
The following circumstances are strictly excluded from the 6-Month Hardware Warranty:
-
Software & Operating Systems: Software bugs, game compatibility issues, operating system updates/corruption, driver conflicts, and malware or virus infections.
-
User Neglect & Accidental Damage: Drops, impacts, cracked tempered glass, spills, liquid damage, internal dust/pet hair accumulation, or improper environmental ventilation.
-
Unauthorized Overclocking: Hardware failure resulting from excessive voltage application, customized GPU VBIOS modifications, or running components outside manufacturer-specified limits.
-
Acts of Nature & External Factors: Damage caused by electrical surges, unstable domestic power supplies, lightning strikes, or improper external cabling.
7. Statutory 14-Day Right to Cancel (Distance Selling)
For consumer orders placed online:
-
You have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
-
To exercise this right, the goods must be returned in complete, resalable condition with all original packaging, accessories, cables, and documentation.
-
P-Spec reserves the right to deduct an amount from the refund if the value of the goods has been diminished by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the items (e.g., visible cosmetic wear, missing retail packaging, or physical alteration).
